The Lake Tuakitoto Catchment Group covers 23,541 hectares. There are three main streams in this catchment - Lovells Creek, Frasers Stream and Stony Creek, which all drain into Lake Tuakitoto, before leaving the Lake and entering the Clutha River.
Catchment highlights
Lake Tuakitoto is a regionally significant wetland. It is home to a number of different birds and fish and supports populations of endemic species. It was a culturally significant mahinga kai gathering site for mana whenua.
